Anionic surfactant

We call the surfactant which ionize in water and the surface active function show negative charge as anionic surfactant.

Anionic surfactant is the largest produced surfactant in quantity. It has four major types, such as carboxylate salt, sulfate ester salt, sulfonic salt and phosphate ester salt. They all show good performance of detergency, foaming, dispersant, emulsifying, wettability etc. Generally used as detergent, foaming agent, wetting agent, emulsifying agent and dispersant agent.

Anionic surfactant can’t be used together with ionic surfactant, because they will form precipitate and lose their performances.
