Seen from the angle of biodegradation and environment compatibility, some petrol-based surfactant such as Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) and Nonyl phenol polyoxyethylene ether (NP), has bad biodegradation capability, so harmful to environment, be forbidden to use in some developed countries. And several types of generally used surfactants such as Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate salts (SLES) and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), they face the same problem of irritation. However, adding little gentle, safe APG, can make the irritation of the formula decrease one grade at least. For example, mixing 25% APG and 75% sodium lauryl ether sulfate, can make the irritation of the latter one decrease 70% or more. Of course, formulation system also has its limitation, using gentle main surfactant is the only solution which solve the problem fundamentally.
